Girton pavilion
Today I had a wonderful workshop which was aimed at 14year olds and above. It was the first time I had organised a workshop of this type in the village where I live, and was unsure of the response I would get, but I did not let it stop me and so I decided to book the Pavilion for a couple hours and hope that a few people would turn up. With my limited promotion I managed to do quite well with two sets of mother and daughter teams signing up, GCSE students from Impington Village college and we even had a lovely, creative lady from Plymouth who was visiting friends in the village. The venue was adequate and I would use it again, the weather sunny and bright and the participants excited and eager to try out my suggestions. These ingredients meant that everything went well with excellent results.....
printing effects on a mood background
wonderful colours and textures
mood circles ready for printing
BUT two hours was just not enough time.
What made me feel really great was that they wanted me to do more workshops, so with that encouragement I will be planning another one in the near future.
We experimented with gesso textures using muslin, wadding and paper.
looked at resists ideas and how gesso can be used to help create 'mood effect' backgrounds,
We also used bondaweb to create a textured surface on faux suede and then transformed these into lovely little books.
An overall success! I would like to thank everyone who came and supported me. I enjoyed it too!
