Working with teenagers is fabulous!

I have had the pleasure of working with a wonderful group of teen girls and a few boys last week and it was great fun. I was impressed with their positive attitude to the work they were doing and the wonderful results at the end. The students were from Impington Village College and a few from Manor Community College.I was demonstrating how to use the embellisher machine and hand embellishing needles as a final stage in completing a three dimensional piece of art.
My questioning look was directed at the photographer and not the students, sorry no photos of the work at this time but believe me it was great! The children at this school are very fortunate to have great teachers and a fantastic art room(three in fact).

Inspiring Teachers.

On Monday I was invited to a teacher training staff meeting at Crosshall school in St. Neots. I was asked to talk about my work and allow for questions from the staff. They would then take part in a workshop based on the way I use colour with particular reference to the quilt I made called Standing Alone. It was a really interesting session and they were all very keen and enthusiastic. Their positive and inspiring attitude will definitely be felt and absorbed by their students. From my previous work with this school it is no wonder that they have received many prestigious awards and reports as I believe that the children's excellent work are as a result of the teachers positive attitudes and dedication.

New Year Happenings

Happy
Happy New Year

It is almost the middle of January and I am back. I have been on "granny duty" and as you all know it is a "very important job" which has to be prioritized. Here are the main reasons for my absence, my granddaughters Ava and Phoebe, on Phoebe's first meeting with big sister. Isaac my son in law is on the right looking really well after a long labour.
